Recognized as a professional institution in 1950, the Symphony Orchestra of the State Philharmonic of Târgu Mureș brings together exceptional professional musicians. Conducting Tradition

Throughout its history, the orchestra has collaborated with legendary artists such as Pablo Casals, Béla Bartók, Jan Kubelik, Joseph Szigeti, and George Enescu. Distinguished conductors have shaped the orchestra's sound, from Robert Houlihan (Ireland, 1990-1993) to Shinya Ozaki (Japan), permanent conductor since 1994, and Anton Shaburov (Russia), guest principal conductor since 2019.
